City of Stonnington use the program to promote sustainable living and practical solutions for waste as well as an opportunity to promote council and engage residents with environmental messages. Watch the short video presentation to learn more.

"We run it as an environmental program and we see it as a great opportunity to engage a broader sector of our community that allows us to then engage them with waste minimisation messages. It's also an opportunity to promote council and other environmental messages."
Melissa Semken, Sustainability Officer at City of Stonnington

City of Stonnington's Sustainability Officer, Melissa Semken, shares the council's learnings and outcomes over the last two years of participating in Garage Sale Trail. Through the program they aim to promote sustainable living and practical solutions for waste.

Garage Sale Trail was a great opportunity for the City of Stonnington to engage with residents about environmental awareness and waste minimisation. This presentation was recorded in a shared council webinar with the Huon Valley Council, Sutherland Shire and the Inner West Council.
